About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
- Create a positive donor experience
- Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
- Set up machines and collection equipment
- Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma and platelets
- Monitor donors post-donation
- Assist donors with rebooking their next donation
- Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets
- Support donors through the donation process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven customer-facing experience
- Passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience
- Comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
- Ability to occasionally lift between 9–22.7kgs
- Ability to frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
- Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Saturday/Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
- Motivation and curiosity to learn the process of collecting blood and biological products
- No previous blood collection experience required
- Full training provided
