About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design strategy across products and journeys, aligning member needs with business and organisational priorities
- Translate strategic objectives into clear design direction and deliverables across multiple teams
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Product Designers
- Establish and embed design principles, standards and best practices
- Partner with Product, Engineering, CX, Brand and business stakeholders throughout end-to-end delivery
- Improve design processes, workflows and systems using reusable patterns and scalable design practices
- Champion accessible, compliant and member-centred design meeting WCAG 2.1 AA and organisational standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience in product design, UX/UI design or experience design
- Proven experience leading design strategically across multiple products, journeys or teams
- Strong people leadership capability, including coaching, development and design critique
- Demonstrated success improving design quality and consistency at scale
- Strong knowledge of user-centred, research-led design and design systems
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and partnering closely with Product and Engineering
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
- Experience in financial services or another regulated environment viewed favourably
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency is required
