About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Track monthly savings for Health Plans
- Review claims data and analyze per member per month (PMPM) spend and savings
- Respond to actuarial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare incurred but not reported (IBNR) data and communicate impact to revenue
- Assist with Health Plan data reconciliations and research outstanding items
- Assist with financial reporting requests by gathering supporting documentation
- Maintain organized actuarial records and files
- Compile, review, and enter actuarial data accurately
- Provide general administrative support to the Actuarial Department
- Collaborate with team members on daily actuarial operations and other assigned projects
- Report to Avalon’s Senior Vice President, Actuarial
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science or another related field
- Passed a minimum of one Actuarial Exam
- Currently on track to take additional Actuarial Exams while pursuing an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
