About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliance, carpentry, emergency system, flooring, hardware, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water feature, and waste management issues
  • Create and/or organize work orders and general maintenance tasks
  • Complete assigned work orders and repairs according to company operating and equipment/supply standards
  • Prepare vacant apartments and garages for occupancy through turnkey work, cleaning, carpet cleaning, appliance repair, caulking, painting, and other repairs
  • Train, mentor, and oversee Maintenance Technicians I and II
  • Conduct apartment preventative maintenance
  • Inspect community grounds and buildings daily to identify maintenance needs
  • Follow safety policies and procedures to maintain an Incident and Injury Free safety culture
  • Perform hot works, including brazing, soldering, and welding, when applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance work
  • Knowledge of HVAC repair, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance repair work
  • Valid driver's license
  • HVAC CFC certifications required, or willingness/desire to learn
  • Ability to accommodate a monthly rotating on-call schedule
  • Ability to communicate with team members and residents to provide customer service
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies and understand Hazard Communication Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Ability to properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Basic understanding of emergency systems, shutoffs, locations, and sequence of operations
  • Knowledge of paint types and paint tools
