About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own application architecture on client engagements, including target-state architecture, service boundaries, integration patterns, non-functional requirements and architecture decision records
- Architect microservices-based applications using domain-driven service decomposition, API design and versioning, synchronous and asynchronous communication, messaging and events, resilience, idempotency and distributed data patterns
- Lead monolith-to-microservices modernisation, including estate assessment, identifying seams and bounded contexts, sequencing decomposition, data separation and cutover
- Design cloud-native applications on Azure using containers and AKS, App Service, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, caching, storage, observability and cost-aware design
- Lead migration of .NET Framework applications to .NET Core / modern .NET
- Build reference implementations, prototypes and complex code in C# and .NET, and review team code
- Lead engineers and technical leads through delivery, including technical direction, work allocation, code and design review, and technical quality accountability
- Define and enforce engineering standards for branching, code review, testing, static analysis, secure coding and performance benchmarks
- Own CI/CD and DevOps approach using Azure DevOps, multi-stage YAML pipelines, environments, approval gates, release automation, infrastructure as code and continuous delivery
- Set standards and use LLM-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for design, refactoring, test generation and legacy code comprehension
- Design application security including authentication and authorisation, secrets management, data protection and secure integration
- Design for operability, including monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, SLOs, disaster recovery and production support handover
- Act as design authority by chairing design reviews, resolving architecture escalations and defending decisions with client architects and review boards
- Plan and estimate technical work, assess technical risks and dependencies, and manage trade-offs with project managers
- Mentor technical leads and engineers and drive skilling in .NET, cloud-native engineering and AI-assisted development
- Support presales as applications SME through solution architecture, modernisation approaches, estimation, proposals and client technical workshops
- Contribute reference architectures, reusable frameworks, pipeline templates and accelerators to the practice IP library
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10–15 years of overall experience in application development and architecture, with a substantial recent focus on Microsoft .NET
- Deep hands-on expertise in C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core / modern .NET, ASP.NET Core, Web API, asynchronous programming and design patterns
- Proven experience architecting microservices-based applications, including service decomposition, API and contract design, messaging and event-driven patterns, distributed data and resilience
- Demonstrated experience decomposing monolithic applications into microservices on real engagements, including sequencing, data separation and cutover
- Strong cloud-native application knowledge on Azure, including containers and AKS, App Service, Functions, API Management, Service Bus or Event Grid, and twelve-factor and well-architected principles
- Proven experience migrating .NET Framework applications to .NET Core / modern .NET
- Hands-on experience using LLM-based coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code in real delivery, with judgement about review, quality and safe use on client code
- Strong Azure DevOps capability: multi-stage YAML pipelines, build and release automation, environments, approval gates and continuous delivery; GitHub Actions experience acceptable alongside it
- Experience leading engineering teams, including technical direction, code and design review, mentoring and accountability for quality
- Strong data layer design: SQL Server or Azure SQL, Entity Framework Core, query and performance tuning, and awareness of NoSQL options such as Cosmos DB
- Solid grounding in application security: Entra ID, OAuth/OIDC, secrets management and secure coding practice
- Experience designing for performance, scalability, reliability and observability, and troubleshooting these in production
- Strong client-facing communication skills, able to present and defend architecture to senior client stakeholders and architecture review boards
- Based in Bengaluru or Delhi NCR, or willing to relocate
