About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain, refactor, and enhance Full Stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Angular
- Perform critical code reviews, identify technical debt, and propose architectural improvements
- Investigate and resolve incidents by identifying root causes and implementing permanent solutions
- Support and modernize new and legacy applications
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and solutions based on microservices architecture
- Contribute to technical decisions, architectural evolution, and solution design
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of applications and Docker and Kubernetes environments
- Investigate issues related to Pods, containers, health checks, logs, availability, and resource consumption
- Use Rancher to monitor, administer, and diagnose workloads
- Work with observability, log analysis, metrics, health indicators, and JVM tuning
- Support SRE practices, capacity management (Requests/Limits), incident prevention, and operational resilience
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, performance, and database maintenance
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities, technology obsolescence, and technical debt
- Contribute to Docker image optimization, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices
- Use Generative AI tools to support development, refactoring, testing, and productivity
- Participate in refinement sessions, technical discussions, and collaborative activities with Development, QA, and other squad members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in Java development (8+)
- Advanced knowledge of the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch
- Experience with OpenLiberty and/or Jakarta EE
- Experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs
- Knowledge of resilience patterns: Circuit Breaker, Retry, Graceful Shutdown, and Rate Limiting
- Experience with code analysis, refactoring, software design, and architectural evolution
- Knowledge of JVM troubleshooting and performance, including thread and Garbage Collector analysis
- Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript
- Knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML5 for maintaining and enhancing legacy applications
- Experience with SPA applications, modularization, and REST API integration
- Experience with Docker, including building and optimizing images (multi-stage builds)
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes: Pods, Deployments, manifests, probes, ingress, logs, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Rancher for managing, monitoring, and diagnosing Kubernetes environments
- Knowledge of Requests/Limits, health checks, resource management, and availability
- Experience troubleshooting development, testing, staging, and production environments
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring, log analysis, metrics, and SRE practices
- Experience with relational databases, especially Oracle and SQL
- Advanced proficiency in building and optimizing queries
- Knowledge of performance analysis, stored procedures, and database maintenance
- Experience with Git, GitLab, and Jenkins
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and process automation
- Experience with SonarQube and static code analysis tools
- Knowledge of vulnerability analysis tools such as Trivy and Snyk
- Experience with application security best practices (AppSec), code quality, and vulnerability mitigation
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), SRE culture, and ITIL practices
- Certifications in Java, Spring, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Rancher, or DevSecOps are a plus
- Knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Experience with DataStage is a plus
- Experience with Generative AI tools applied to software engineering, such as GitHub Copilot, is a plus
- Knowledge of Prompt Engineering is a plus
