About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the technical reference for a strategic SAP BTP project
Design and develop cloud-native applications using SAP BTP
Develop solutions with CAP using Node.js, TypeScript, and Java
Work with RAP and modern ABAP development
Apply Clean Core, ABAP Cloud, and side-by-side extensibility
Work with APIs and released objects in S/4HANA
Develop, configure, and support integrations using SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI)
Work with SAP API Management, API proxies, policies, and throttling
Work with SAP Event Mesh and integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems
Develop mappings, routing, message transformation, and exception handling
Use Groovy and XSLT for integrations
Develop Fiori Freestyle / SAPUI5 and Fiori Elements applications
Use SAP Business Application Studio and deploy via the HTML5 Repository
Develop and enhance OData V2/V4 services and CDS Views / CDS Models
Structure data models for Fiori applications and external systems
Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, Basic Authentication, API keys, certificates, mTLS, and XSUAA
Work with SAP IAS / IPS, Cloud Connector, and Destination Service
Work in Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma
Use Git and configure/operate CI/CD pipelines
Automate builds, deployments, and promotions between environments
Handle L2/L3 incidents and requests, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and monitor and optimize applications and integrations

Support transition and knowledge transfer with the client team
Serve as a technical reference, support architecture and development, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices
Support performance optimization and participate in knowledge-transfer sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Seniority: Senior / Specialist
Fluent English — mandatory; ability to participate in technical meetings, understand complex questions, explain architecture and solutions, defend technical decisions, present experience, and interact with international teams
Proven experience in SAP projects
Practical experience with SAP BTP and SAP S/4HANA
Experience in AMS / L2/L3 support environments
Strong proficiency in SAP CAP
Experience with Node.js / JavaScript / TypeScript / Java
Solid knowledge of CDS (Core Data Services)
Practical experience with ABAP RAP, ABAP Cloud, Clean Core, and released APIs
Experience with Eclipse ADT
Experience with Fiori Freestyle / SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including Promises and CRUD
Advanced knowledge of SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI)
Experience with SAP API Management, adapters, routing, mapping, Groovy, XSLT, and exception handling
Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, OData, SEGW, HTTP/HTTPS, XML, and JSON
Experience with API authentication and security
Knowledge of Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma
Experience with Cloud Connector and Destination Service
Experience integrating SAP with third-party systems
Knowledge of integration monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
Experience with S/4HANA on-premises or Cloud, preferably in RISE environments
Practical experience integrating with Order Management, POS, CX platforms, tax engines, e-commerce systems, or enterprise systems external to SAP will be a significant advantage
Experience, knowledge, and certifications listed in the Preferred Qualifications section are desirable
