About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and evaluate the facility's Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
- Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and evaluate the facility's Infection Control program
- Oversee safety, security, and occupational health issues
- Assist departments with quality improvement projects, data collection, reporting, action plans, and project evaluation
- Complete forms and audits for QAPI, infection control, and safety activities
- Report QAPI, infection control, and safety activities to the Administrator and Medical Director
- Monitor compliance with CDC, OSHA, and local regulations
- Monitor infection control practices and procedures involving blood and body fluids and disposal of contaminated materials
- Assist the DON with performance evaluations, counseling, communication, and supervision of nursing and CNA staff
- Lead Facilities Pain Management, QAPI, Safety, Staff Meetings, and other committees
- Complete Department of Health reports
- Assess physiological changes affecting resident conditions and act on observations
- Advocate for development and utilization of the Electronic Medical Record
- Support, promote, and protect Resident Rights
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice upon hire
- Ability to work the specified hours, including night, weekend, and holiday on-call involvement
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree
- Preferred experience in geriatric, medical, or surgical nursing
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compliance with applicable CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA, CDC, state, federal, local, and system regulations and standards
