About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and deliver occupational therapy services for individual patients and patient groups
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs
  • Evaluate patients using records, interviews, observations, and input from team members
  • Use selected activities and tasks to promote health and achieve treatment goals
  • Establish and modify intervention goals and strategies based on ongoing evaluations
  • Provide direct therapy services in various functional settings
  • Plan therapy according to patients’ physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities and coordinate with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans
  • Prepare evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other professional documentation
  • Communicate patient status, progress, and needs with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Establish rapport and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members throughout intervention programs
  • Participate in educational programs, literature review, in-service meetings, workshops, and professional development
  • Share new knowledge with coworkers
  • Evaluate and monitor clinical internships for students
  • Participate in department program development
  • Work in Hartington, Nebraska for 3 days and Yankton, South Dakota for 2 days, with weekend involvement approximately 1 weekend in 6

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice upon hire
  • Ability to work the specified hours
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to comply with applicable safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards, including CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA if applicable
  • 1–3 years of clinical patient care preferred
