About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Provider Relations Manager with oversight of the dental Provider Relations function
- Lead, coach, and develop Provider Relations staff through meetings, check-ins, feedback, career development, and engagement support
- Serve as subject matter expert and escalation point for complex provider, claims, contract, credentialing, directory, and operational issues
- Hold staff accountable for quality, productivity, service, documentation, and performance measures
- Oversee provider outreach, education, orientation, and engagement across dental product lines
- Provide training and guidance on eligibility, claims submission, payment, prior authorization, directories, portals, and administrative processes
- Oversee provider interaction records, outreach documentation, office visit notes, concerns, action items, and issue resolution
- Monitor provider capacity, performance, network adequacy, geographic access, network composition, and market conditions
- Partner with Network Recruitment on contracting, recruitment, network expansion, and adequacy initiatives
- Partner with Credentialing on credentialing, recredentialing, document intake, inquiries, and escalations
- Analyze provider, claims, directory, access, and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support adoption of portals, digital tools, electronic transactions, and standardized processes
- Develop and implement cross-functional operational and network solutions
- Lead or support corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives
- Attend work-related events and conferences and represent the organization professionally
- Perform other Provider Relations and network management duties and special projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent; experience may substitute for education
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- 3+ years of dental provider relations, dental health plan operations, network management, or related experience in government and/or commercial lines of business
- 1+ years of leadership experience, including direct supervision, team leadership, project leadership, process ownership, or comparable responsibility
- Valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance and ability to use your own vehicle
- Intermediate PowerPoint skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, databases, and provider documentation/data-analysis systems
- Working knowledge of dental health plan operations, provider contracts and agreements, claims, credentialing, contracting, provider directories, and network adequacy principles
- Ability to evaluate provider performance, network adequacy, geographic access, capacity, and operational metrics
- Ability to analyze network composition and market conditions
- Ability to communicate data-informed insights through written summaries, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
