About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with Account Managers to understand customer requirements and translate them into functional system designs
Participate in client discussions and explain design concepts
Provide labor estimates and material requirements for sales proposals
Develop and maintain design standards packages for large and repeat customer accounts
Create system documentation, including bills of materials, block diagrams, infrastructure plans, and scopes of work
Determine power, data, and conduit infrastructure requirements and coordinate with general contractors
Identify and communicate project risks, site conditions, scheduling requirements, and dependencies
Review pre-construction documentation
Coordinate with vendors, architects, consultants, and contractors
Review and validate junior Engineers’ designs and provide guidance
Support project teams during implementation as design authority
Perform additional tasks and projects as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently address risks
Experience conveying technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Customer-focused mindset
Detail-oriented approach
Self-directed learning through ongoing education or certifications
Proficiency in design and configuration of AV systems, including software tools and standards
Comprehensive understanding of IP networking, including AVoIP, and network architecture
Familiarity with AVIXA and ANSI/TIA standards
Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu
Understanding of power, data, and conduit infrastructure requirements for AV systems
AVIXA General CTS certification
AVIXA ANP certification; Cisco CCNA or similar may be considered in lieu of ANP
Three or more relevant audio/DSP certifications (Biamp, Q-SYS, BSS, Extron, Shure, etc.)
Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record meeting company standards
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Five years of audiovisual system design or integration experience preferred
Experience using and quoting enterprise VC solutions preferred
Prior on-site project work, installation oversight, or field troubleshooting preferred
