About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, prepare, settle, and file taxation documents for client estate accounts
- Perform estate settlements, journal processing, and issuance of tax documents
- Address estate-related inquiries and issues within internal deadlines
- Maintain current information and request channels, including OSM, Laserfiche, and mailbox requests
- Collaborate with operational teams and provide assistance to partners
- Review MFDA and IIROC estate settlement processes and recommend improvements
- Maintain current training checklists, departmental procedures, and manuals
- Provide regular status updates and escalate backlog items for resource allocation
- Participate in IIAC Committee meetings
- Remain current on CRA, RQ, HRSDC, and trustee regulations
- Support the Estates Contact Centre by responding to partner inquiries
- Resolve problems at the first point of contact where possible
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary education
- Minimum of 5 years’ financial industry experience, preferably in Estates, Registered Plans or Operations
- Industry knowledge of MFDA, IIROC, CRA and RQ rules and regulations preferred
- Pro-active problem solving with strong analytical skills
- Extremely detail oriented and accurate with a focus on quality assurance
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Outstanding customer service focus
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet time deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word, Outlook, Excel
- Experience with Dataphile is an asset
- Fluency (written and spoken) in English and French is required
- Ability to work EST/PST standard hours
