About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work directly with customer business and technical teams to identify valuable use cases
Turn broad requests into focused scope, acceptance criteria, and practical delivery plans
Decide whether existing capabilities are sufficient, new software is needed, or a request should be narrowed or declined
Design and implement data integrations, business logic, APIs, applications, and AI-enabled workflows
Deliver usable software iteratively with tests, clear interfaces, access controls, and an agreed deployment approach
Reconcile outputs against source data and business rules
Evaluate model behavior when AI is part of the solution
Validate accuracy, usability, and business value with users
Monitor deployments, resolve issues, document systems, and establish ongoing support models
Partner with account teams to connect technical delivery to customer adoption and new use cases
Work with Product and Engineering to identify reusable patterns
Help establish engineering practices, delivery standards, and working relationships for the FDE team
Write and review code, work through messy data, design integrations and applications, and own software behavior after release
Travel 25–50%

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of personally shipping and maintaining production software
Ability to work independently across backend/application logic, data models, APIs, testing, and debugging
Comfort reasoning about reliability, permissions, failure cases, and tradeoffs between a fast first release and a maintainable system
Experience with Python and SQL
Full-stack application development with TypeScript/React or comparable tools
Experience with enterprise data and API integrations
Experience with applied AI or agent workflows with rigorous evaluation
Experience in manufacturing, quality, reliability, supply-chain, or service operations is particularly important for the software-engineer path
Ability to understand how people work and translate ambiguous problems into useful solutions
Clear communication with technical and nontechnical colleagues
Ability to operate independently in a small team
Comfortable working in the NYC or SF office 3 days per week
Ability to work in the United States; visa sponsorship requirement must be disclosed
