About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, and maintain Data Loss Prevention policies across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and endpoints
  • Tune DLP policies, handle false positives, and investigate incidents
  • Own sensitivity label setup, retention policies, and records management
  • Support eDiscovery, audit log searches, and legal holds with Compliance and Legal
  • Prepare and lead Purview stakeholder meetings, explain technical options and impacts, align interests, and turn decisions into next steps
  • Automate reporting, policy rollout, and monitoring with PowerShell
  • Handle L3 escalations, write documentation and runbooks, and coach L1/L2 colleagues
  • Maintain the hybrid Exchange environment, including Exchange Server 2016/2019 and Exchange Online
  • Manage connectors, mail flow, certificates, and Entra Connect synchronization
  • Troubleshoot complex mail flow and client issues across Outlook, OWA, and EWS
  • Maintain email authentication and security using SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and Defender for Office 365
  • Support mailbox moves and cleanup during the reduction of on-premises Exchange

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working as an escalation point for Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment, owning problems through to resolution
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including DLP policies, sensitivity labels, retention, and eDiscovery/audit
  • Confidence leading stakeholder meetings independently and driving decisions
  • Working knowledge of Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange, including mail flow, connectors, and certificates
  • Comfort writing PowerShell scripts for administration and automation
  • Structured troubleshooting approach
  • Ability to explain compliance topics to non-technical colleagues
  • Fluency in English
  • Nice to have: SC-401/SC-400, MS-102, or MS-203 certifications
  • Nice to have: Defender for Office 365, Proofpoint, or similar email security tools
  • Nice to have: Migration experience, including cross-tenant or public folders, or Quest/BitTitan tools
  • Nice to have: Intune, Conditional Access, GDPR, ISO 27001, or Swiss FADP exposure
  • German language skills are nice to have
