About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the overall financial performance (P&L) of assigned BESS and Solar + BESS operating assets, including revenue optimization, expense management, and variance analysis against budget and investment thesis
  • Develop and manage annual asset budgets and 3–5-year financial forecasts for the portfolio, incorporating market dynamics, regulatory changes, and operational improvements
  • Manage adherence to compliance obligations for operating agreements, including PPAs, credit agreements, company operating agreements, leases, easements, O&M agreements, long-term services agreements, and compliance agreements
  • Support cash management, forecasts, and liquidity planning with Portfolio Finance
  • Partner with Operations, O&M providers, and Performance Engineering to monitor and improve asset performance using data systems and historical operational data
  • Establish and track KPIs including availability, uptime, state of charge, round-trip efficiency, financial health metrics, and other asset-specific metrics
  • Identify performance gaps and anomalies, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize energy generation and revenue
  • Ensure adherence to operational protocols, ISO and regulatory standards, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Support contract reviews, amendments, renewals, and new agreement negotiations with Legal, Finance, and Development teams
  • Create and maintain internal asset performance reports, external stakeholder reports, and executive dashboards
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the assigned portfolio and report directly to the Vice President of Asset Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 5–10 years of professional experience in asset management or a related field with utility-scale renewable energy or energy storage projects
  • Experience with ISO/RTO market participation and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong project finance knowledge, including debt covenants, tax equity structures, and investor reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex information for diverse audiences
  • Strong quantitative skills with ability to conduct complex financial and performance analysis
  • Attention to detail, commitment to continuous improvement, and focus on metrics and KPI management
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Willingness to travel approximately 5%
