About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design across discovery and delivery, owning key design decisions for AI-first language learning experiences
- Design AI-powered learning experiences involving conversation, voice, and clear, trustworthy feedback
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, exploration, prototyping, and delivery
- Build SwiftUI and HTML prototypes to test ideas and create handoff-ready vision prototypes
- Combine Claude Code and Figma in the design process
- Coach and mentor the experienced design team on AI-first design principles
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, linguists, and language learning specialists
- Deliver prototypes that provide engineering and stakeholders with a clear vision
- Improve design quality and speed through AI tools and design systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid experience leading product design, with a record of shipping work that users adopted
- Excellent UI craft and motion design
- Hands-on proficiency in SwiftUI and HTML/CSS/JS
- Ability to build usable, testable prototypes in code
- AI fluency and experience using AI tools such as Claude Code as part of the design process
- Working knowledge of design systems
- Experience coaching designers and raising team standards
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical partners, including linguists and learning designers
- Comfort with ambiguity, fast iteration, and figuring things out as work progresses
