About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Accumulate and consolidate all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of business results
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, prepaid, inventory, fixed asset, and payables accounts
  • Resolve discrepancies and prepare journal entries
  • Perform financial modeling and analysis
  • Actively participate in the monthly close
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and managerial reports
  • Actively participate in the year-end close process with external auditors
  • Prepare compliance and regulatory work papers and filings for income tax and sales tax

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Excellent technological and analytical skills
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of IFRS (preferred)
  • SAP experience (preferred)
  • Previous public accounting experience (preferred)
  • Manufacturing and or life science work experience (preferred)
