About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work on B2 APIs and subsystems enabling customers and integrations to upload objects, manage object lifecycles, track usage, and interact with billing and storage systems
Build new features and improve system scalability
Build internal observability tooling
Design, implement, and maintain B2 and S3-compatible APIs for correctness, performance, and backward compatibility
Lead technical design discussions and produce clear design documents
Instrument services, develop metrics, define meaningful SLIs/SLOs, and drive reliability improvements
Participate in the on-call rotation, determine incident root causes, and identify remediation items

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of server-side Java programming experience with a strong background in algorithms and data structures
Experience writing software for large scale distributed systems, including design, implementation, testing, and rollout
Proactive communication in a remote environment, keeping the team informed, surfacing blockers early, and moving work forward
Professional experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Gemini, Cursor, Claude Code)
Bonus: Cassandra and Vitess experience
Bonus: Agile and scrum experience
