About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design firmware components or portions of projects with oversight
- Provide firmware support for products and sustaining engineering with oversight from senior engineers
- Perform product and design verification tests
- Assist in defining plans and production implementations
- Write product work instructions and process documents
- Initiate and implement engineering change requests
- Participate in multidisciplinary project teams and provide input into project schedules, budgets, and risks
- Support new product development and maintenance of existing products in the production environment
- Work alongside Engineering leaders while developing product knowledge
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or CS/Software/Firmware Engineering
- Basic working design knowledge of embedded microcontroller/microprocessor firmware (C, C++, etc.)
- Familiarity with revision control systems (Git or SVN)
- Basic understanding of digital circuit design and troubleshooting
- Basic familiarity with implementing schematics for digital circuits using common ECAD tools (Altium, PCAD, or Protel)
- No previous experience required
- Experience working with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers for troubleshooting PCBs and electronic products (Preferred)
- Experience working with other company departments in technical support of products (Preferred)
- Experience debugging and prototyping embedded systems (Preferred)
