About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Connect and integrate IT Operations technologies and teams into a cohesive, business-aligned infrastructure ecosystem
Lead cross-team architecture discussions on tradeoffs, dependencies, and direction
Create infrastructure architecture roadmaps and presentations for leaders
Connect cloud, SaaS, and on-premises infrastructure into a coherent architecture
Identify platform gaps and overlaps to drive early resolution
Align Microsoft Teams, AV/conference room, and endpoint architectures
Connect Entra ID, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, and cloud services
Partner with Project Managers and Business Analysts to shape infrastructure solution options and define requirements
Integrate AI capabilities into infrastructure and workplace environments within security and governance guidelines
Plan and design infrastructure supporting Baird’s AI efforts
Serve as a senior technical resource during major incidents
Build alignment across teams and coach engineers and technical leads
Act as an escalation point for optimization trade-offs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, systems engineering or related technology disciplines
Minimum of 3 years leading complex technical or cross-team initiatives in a large IT environment
Solid grasp of Azure, Microsoft 365 including Teams, Exchange, SharePoint and Intune
Knowledge of identity technologies including Entra ID, networking, virtualization, and unified communications
Ability to connect multiple technology areas rather than specializing in just one
Skilled at leading through influence and facilitating discussions
Clear communication with technical and business audiences
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status
