About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a trusted member of the engagement team, providing assurance and consulting services to industry-specific banking clients
- Engage proactively with clients throughout the year to understand business goals and challenges
- Implement testing to assess internal-control deficiencies and recommend improvements
- Manage audit fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely delivery of results
- Provide financial-statement guidance and business recommendations based on testing and gathered information
- Deliver business insight through review, analysis, and discussion
- Assist with engagement staffing, billings and collections, and client profitability targets
- Network and build relationships internally, externally, with clients, and with the community
- Participate in firm-wide learning and development programs
- Support team-member growth through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree
- CPA
- Five (5) years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's or advanced degree desired
- Five (5)+ years’ experience providing financial statement auditing services in a professional services firm
- Two (2)+ years’ supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and supervise others
- Ability to provide exceptional client service
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current regarding applicable strategies
- Ability to see the “big picture” as well as the details
- Appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment
- Sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of projects
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
- Experience working with banking clients, including public banks
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
