About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare U.S. individual income tax returns and tax equalization calculations for inbound and outbound international assignees
  • Participate in arrival and departure tax meetings for expatriates and in-patriates
  • Prepare U.S. payroll estimates, including hypothetical tax and shadow payroll calculations
  • Communicate with corporate clients and their assignees
  • Assist with consulting projects involving compensation, internal client policies, and ad hoc activities
  • Conduct tax research and review tax authority notices
  • Coordinate with and act as a resource to complimentary workforce teams
  • Assist with practice management, including reviewing and tracking compliance reports and client billing
  • Collaborate and build relationships with Baker Tilly member firms around the world
  • Help provide technical guidance to tax professionals firm-wide
  • Learn and grow through coaching, mentoring, and firm-wide learning and development programs
  • Network and build strong internal and external client relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year degree
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Eligible to obtain CPA, JD or EA
  • 1 year of professional experience
  • At least one (1) year of experience with individual income tax issues
  • Experience with foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance, and the tax equalization process are a plus
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA, JD or EA
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, highly preferred
  • GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
