About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a Senior Accounting Associate for multiple clients across the country in a cloud-based environment
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages for assigned properties
  • Maintain accounting records for ownership entities holding real estate assets
  • Monitor compliance with ownership, debt and other agreements
  • Prepare monthly annualized income and expense projections to support cash flow management and investor approval decisions
  • Prepare and analyze periodic excess net cash flow distribution calculations
  • Prepare journal entries for acquisitions, dispositions and financings
  • Prepare data supporting annual financial statement audits and tax returns
  • Assist with preparation and review of annual budgets
  • Work with Property Management on tenant reconciliation settlements for operating expenses, real estate taxes and utilities
  • Input and set up new leases and lease renewals in property management software
  • Network and build relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Support team member growth through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy
  • Handle accounting matters for commercial, retail and hospitality assets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Three+ (3)+ years of experience in commercial real estate or public accounting with exposure to commercial real estate
  • Development/Construction accounting background is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office software/Excel
  • Experience with MRI or Yardi is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration and time management skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
