About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted engagement-team member providing assurance and consulting services to industry-specific middle-market clients
  • Engage proactively with clients throughout the year to gather information, complete testing, and respond to questions
  • Plan and supervise execution of audit engagement activities
  • Review and perform substantive testing on client balance sheets and income statements
  • Conduct and review internal-control deficiency tests and recommend improvements
  • Discuss business recommendations with the Manager and Partner based on testing and gathered information
  • Participate in on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and firm-wide learning and development programs
  • Network and build strong internal and client relationships
  • Support team-member growth through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy
  • Participate in friendships, social activities, and team outings supporting work-life balance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year degree
  • Eligible to obtain CPA license
  • Three (3) years of experience
  • CPA or actively pursuing completion of the exams (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or advanced degree in accounting (preferred)
  • Three (3)+ years of experience providing financial statement auditing services within a public accounting firm (preferred)
  • Demonstrated time management, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership, project management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Initiative and adaptability
  • Microsoft Suite skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
