About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide federal tax compliance and advisory services to S-corporations, partnerships, individuals, and corporations from middle-market to multinational companies
- Participate in tax research projects on various tax issues
- Help draft IRS responses and address other tax authority inquiries
- Team with leaders on special projects involving corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740
- Develop client recommendations and share them with leadership for discussion and strategy
- Collaborate with specialty tax practices on state and local, high-net-worth, international, research and development, credits, and incentives matters
- Learn through direct coaching, mentoring, and firm-wide learning and development programs
- Network and build strong internal and client relationships
- Support team-member growth and development through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy
- Participate in friendships, social activities, and team outings
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree
- 3 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a related degree in business, and sufficient coursework and credits to sit for the CPA and/or Bar exam in the state being considered
- CPA or JD license preferred
- Two (2)+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a public accounting firm
- Demonstrated time management, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, project management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Initiative and adaptability
- Microsoft Suite skills
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
