About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide federal tax compliance and advisory services to S-corporations, partnerships, individuals, and corporations ranging from middle-market to multinational companies
  • Participate in tax research projects on a variety of tax issues
  • Help draft IRS responses and address other tax authority inquiries
  • Team with leaders on special projects involving corporate and flow-through taxation, including accounting methods and ASC 740
  • Develop client recommendations and share them with leadership for discussion and strategy
  • Communicate and collaborate with specialty tax practices on state and local, high-net-worth, international, research and development, credits, and incentives matters
  • Learn and grow through on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and firm-wide learning and development programs
  • Network and build strong internal and client relationships
  • Support team-member growth and development through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy
  • Participate in friendships, social activities, and team outings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year degree, license eligible
  • Three (3)+ years of experience required
  • Experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a public accounting firm preferred
  • Tax experience with nonprofit clients preferred
  • CPA, Law License, or EA preferred
  • Demonstrated time management, communication, interpersonal, relationship building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership, project management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Initiative and adaptability
  • Microsoft Suite skills
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
