About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support preparation of R&D tax credit studies by organizing and analyzing client data
- Assist with documentation, participate in client interviews, and contribute to technical reports and project deliverables
- Assist with technical research and preparation of memoranda related to R&D tax credit matters
- Develop and improve client- and industry-specific tools, templates, and supporting documentation
- Support cost segregation project planning and review construction and fixed asset information
- Prepare supporting workpapers and documentation for cost segregation studies
- Conduct technical research and assist with tax credit and incentive consulting
- Support research and preparation of technical memoranda related to fixed asset matters, including Section 179D
- Help clients identify and evaluate federal, state, and local tax credits and incentives
- Gather, organize, and analyze client information for eligibility evaluations and tax credit claims
- Prepare supporting documents, workpapers, and other client deliverables
- Participate in client and internal team meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field
- JD/LLM preferred for Tax Credit Advisory
- A resume and unofficial transcript(s) are required as part of the application process
- Authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa sponsorship, now or in the future
- At least 18 years of age
- At least one academic term remaining following completion of the internship
- Passion for developing creative, data-driven solutions to complex analytical and tax challenges
- Willingness to travel to client locations and various Baker Tilly office locations
- Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel
- Demonstrated time management, communication, interpersonal, relationship building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, and adaptability
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
