About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the Baltimore Electrical Department
  • Manage select projects while developing and growing a group capable of executing large-scale regional and national projects
  • Provide extensive technical expertise and serve as a resource to engineering staff
  • Support sales efforts by establishing and maintaining client relationships
  • Serve as engineering leader and technical expert
  • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by engineering staff
  • Check and confirm accuracy of engineering staff work and methods
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and lead department staff
  • Conduct quality control reviews and reinforce technical lessons and company processes
  • Provide input on staff performance, advancement, and potential
  • Propose and oversee project budgets and timelines
  • Collaborate with managers, suppliers, and contractors to complete projects on time and on budget
  • Review workforce projections and determine staffing needs
  • Drive ownership, accountability, and culture through the company
  • Interact with partners and executives to advance the firm’s growth and quality agenda
  • Provide marketing and business development support
  • Identify potential business opportunities
  • Develop fees for complex projects with the leadership team
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Grow the volume and footprint of office market sectors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 plus years of experience in electrical/fire alarm design
  • Team supervisory experience
  • Maryland PE license
  • Bachelor’s degree electrical engineering required from a 4-year accredited college or university
  • Strong technical writing & software skills including Revit
  • Sound knowledge of building codes
  • Great interpersonal & communication skills
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
