About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects at Savannah River National Laboratory
- Manage projects from planning through execution, turnover, and closeout
- Ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met
- Lead and coordinate field construction activities, contractors, subcontractors, and project personnel
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project controls, and other stakeholders
- Review drawings, specifications, estimates, schedules, and work packages for constructability
- Monitor progress, costs, schedules, risks, and contractor performance
- Identify variances and implement corrective actions
- Manage project changes and evaluate impacts to scope, cost, schedule, and resources
- Lead construction meetings, field walkdowns, progress reviews, and project status reporting
- Maintain accurate job-related documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management
- Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or project management (or equivalent)
- Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience across project management, engineering, construction, project controls, or procurement
- DOE Q Clearance required
- U.S. citizenship required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Previous experience managing construction projects within a DOE or other highly regulated environment preferred
- Experience with large-scale industrial, nuclear, or government construction projects preferred
- Working knowledge of DOE construction requirements, safety standards, and project controls preferred
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and construction cost/schedule management preferred
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling software preferred
- PMP, CCM, or related project/construction management certification preferred
- Experience managing subcontractors, change orders, and construction closeout activities preferred
