About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities at the Savannah River Site under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Provide direct field leadership and coordinate subcontractors, craft personnel, equipment, materials, and site logistics
  • Direct daily field construction activities, workforce assignments, work sequencing, and site operations
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and work packages; communicate field requirements and identify constructability concerns
  • Monitor workmanship, productivity, field conditions, subcontractor performance, and construction progress
  • Conduct field walkdowns and coordinate daily meetings, pre-task planning, and construction activities
  • Identify and communicate field issues, delays, safety concerns, and potential impacts to the Project Manager
  • Coordinate with safety, quality, engineering, and other field personnel to resolve construction issues
  • Maintain accurate job-related documentation and records
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management
  • Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience, including field supervision, construction supervision, or site leadership experience
  • Experience directing subcontractors, craft personnel, and day-to-day field construction activities
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, work packages, sequencing, and field execution
  • Experience coordinating construction workforce, materials, equipment, and site logistics
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and jobsite hazard identification
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and communicate field construction issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, craft personnel, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Previous construction experience at the Savannah River Site (SRS) or another DOE facility preferred
  • Experience with industrial, nuclear, government, or highly regulated construction projects preferred
  • Familiarity with DOE construction, work control, safety, and quality requirements preferred
  • Experience overseeing multiple subcontractors or construction disciplines simultaneously preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred
  • Current or previous DOE security clearance, where applicable to assigned work, preferred
