About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support creation, onboarding, and maintenance of accounts according to established guidelines and procedures
  • Provide quality service and efficient operations support to internal business partners and external clients
  • Review Merrill branch account requests and documentation for completeness
  • Confirm requirements, obtain approvals or exceptions, and process account openings and maintenance updates
  • Respond to client inquiries through multiple channels with status updates and request decisions or outstanding requirements
  • Research processing errors, resolve routine exceptions, and complete corrective actions
  • Identify operational issues and escalate risk concerns appropriately
  • Handle inbound calls, sort and distribute mail, maintain records, and store required evidence
  • Understand end-to-end process flows, controls, risks, and upstream/downstream impacts
  • Complete high-volume work within a 48-hour period

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting brokerage accounts or clients in operations, client service, customer service, or related environment
  • Experience managing a high-volume personal caseload and consistently meeting 48-hour turnaround times
  • Ability to apply judgment within established guidelines to resolve routine exceptions, maintain risk awareness, and escalate issues appropriately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for phone and email interaction with internal partners
  • Ability to work flexibly between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Experience reviewing legal and/or tax documentation (desired)
  • Experience using Service Request Portal (SRP) (desired)
  • Account management, customer and client focus, oral and written communications, research, attention to detail, collaboration, prioritization, recording/organizing information, result orientation, and numerical reasoning
