About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide legal counsel and regulatory guidance on fixed income derivatives, futures, cleared OTC, and repo within Global Markets
  • Advise on fixed income derivatives, clearing, futures, cleared repo, and OTC activities
  • Analyze legal and regulatory matters affecting products and services
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support documentation, risk participation arrangements, transaction confirmations, and ancillary documentation
  • Advise on licensing, documentation, and transaction structuring for U.S. and Latin America Rates and FX businesses
  • Advise on CFTC, NFA, SEC, and FINRA regulatory requirements
  • Support U.S. Treasury clearing and other fixed income clearing initiatives
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Credit, and global business partners
  • Manage legal risk and support regulatory examinations and investigations
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents and legal opinions
  • Direct outside legal counsel and coordinate Legal staff
  • Train, mentor, and support development of peers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Familiarity with fixed income derivatives products
  • Familiarity with futures clearing, treasury clearing and FCM regulations and documentation
  • Experience with U.S. CFTC and SEC rules
  • 4+ years of experience at a major law firm, bank, or similar institutional environment (desired)
  • Familiarity with institutional broker-dealer and banking businesses and products (desired)
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to handle multiple complex assignments and navigate a large institution
  • Doctorate degree in a related field
  • 40 hours per week
  • First-shift availability in the United States
