About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead assessment of the design and effectiveness of the risk and control environment for Consumer Governance and Enablement
- Perform monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation
- Lead implementation of optimized controls and enhanced Quality Assurance practices
- Provide oversight and guidance to team members conducting quality inspection reviews
- Ensure timely execution of QA activities, including control execution, case management, and results reporting
- Manage and review responses for regulatory exams, internal audits, monitoring, and inspection reviews
- Ensure data accuracy and capture relevant information for inspection metrics and dashboard reporting
- Lead responses to Audit and TRA requests and manage business-as-usual risk escalations through resolution
- Conduct risk assessments and identify control gaps and emerging risks
- Manage the end-to-end issue lifecycle, including identification, root-cause analysis, remediation, validation, and closure
- Evaluate and enhance control design and effectiveness; validate remediation actions
- Drive process simplification and control optimization
- Identify thematic control trends and recommend strategic, preventive solutions
- Provide risk reporting and escalate material risks and delays
- Influence stakeholders and provide credible challenges on risk and control decisions
- Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit to ensure alignment with frameworks and regulatory expectations
- Execute internal control discipline and operational excellence processes within a Line of Business or Enterprise Control Function
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes through ongoing monitoring, testing, issue identification, and action planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years in risk management, controls, audit, or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and control design, execution, monitoring, and evaluation
- Experience with root cause analysis and control design/assessment
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and process improvement experience
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Executive presentation experience
- Experience interpreting regulatory expectations and assessing their impact on business processes and controls (desired)
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Advanced risk and control expertise
- Strategic thinking and ability to anticipate downstream impacts
- Ability to simplify processes while maintaining strong risk coverage
- Ability to drive accountability and high-quality, sustainable outcomes
