About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide client service support to multiple Financial Advisors
- Serve as a primary point of contact within Merrill for clients’ service needs
- Act as a resource for Financial Advisors on the team
- Obtain Securities Industry licenses and complete dedicated training
- Progress through the Advisor Development Program toward becoming a Financial Advisor trainee and ultimately a Merrill Financial Advisor
- Develop a book of business and meet or exceed established performance hurdles
- Source prospective clients, capitalize on referrals, assess customer needs, and refer customers to internal specialists
- Recommend suitable investment products and services based on client objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences
- Balance investment growth, referral activities, customer follow-up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and professional development
- Organize and manage resources to run a productive practice
- Seek specialist expertise to identify planning and investment strategies
- Partner with Financial Advisors, Client Relationship Managers, and Market Supervision Managers on client servicing, risk, investments, and banking products
- Educate clients on the bank’s services and banking offerings
- Ensure client materials and requests are timely, accurate, and complete
- Support alignment with bank policies and procedures, operational excellence, client protection, and risk management
- Identify, deepen, and maintain client relationships while promoting Bank of America and Merrill offerings
- Provide business development, investment solutions, and business management support to multiple Financial Advisors
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
- Displays confidence working as a self-starter in a sales role
- Strong client relationship-building, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proactive mindset and effective time management
- Results-driven growth mindset with prioritization of client interests
- Ability to identify appropriate client solutions through application of learnings and new information
- Ability to quickly build trust and credibility
- Ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively with key partners and independently
- Ability to listen and probe for clarity and understanding
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to source clients through prospecting and networking
- Strong follow-through skills
- Computer/technical literacy and proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Suite
- SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 licenses must be obtained within 120 days; Series 63 and 65 accepted in lieu of Series 66 if previously held
- Position requires SAFE Act registration, background check, and maintaining good standing
- Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of one year of work experience (desired qualification)
