About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide client service support to multiple Financial Advisors
- Obtain Securities Industry licenses through dedicated study time
- Serve as a frequent point of contact for Merrill clients and address service needs
- Act as a resource for Financial Advisors on the team
- Progress through experiential activities and training toward becoming a Financial Advisor trainee
- Acquire, build, and manage client relationships while providing financial advice and solutions
- Develop a book of business to meet and exceed performance hurdles
- Source prospective clients, capitalize on referrals, assess customer needs, and refer clients to internal specialists
- Recommend suitable investment products and services
- Balance investment growth, referrals, customer follow-up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and professional development
- Organize and manage time, people, and budget to run a productive practice
- Complete mandated training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education
- Partner with Financial Advisors, Client Relationship Managers, and Market Supervision Managers on client servicing, risk, investments, and banking products
- Educate clients on bank services and banking offerings
- Ensure client materials and requests are timely, accurate, and complete
- Support policy and procedure compliance, operational excellence, client protection, and risk management
- Identify, deepen, and maintain client relationships while promoting banking solutions
- Provide business development, investment solutions, and business management support to multiple Financial Advisors
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
- SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 licenses must be obtained within 120 days; Series 63 and 65 accepted in lieu of Series 66 if previously held
- SAFE Act registration, background check, and maintenance of good standing required
- Confidence working as a self-starter in a sales role
- Strong client relationship-building, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proactive mindset and effective time management
- Results-driven growth mindset with prioritization of client interests
- Ability to identify appropriate client solutions and assess client needs
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to listen and probe for clarity and understanding
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to source clients through prospecting and networking
- Strong follow-through skills
- Computer/technical literacy and proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Suite
- Desired: Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of one year of work experience
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology or applications
- Ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously
