About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide front-line oversight of Bank of America Private Bank Fiduciary Investment Management areas
  • Execute second-line compliance and operational risk oversight for the Private Bank Fiduciary Investment Management business area
  • Provide independent and aggregate views of compliance and operational risk related to Reg 9, Investment Policy Statements, performance reporting, asset allocation monitoring, and SEC Marketing Rule collateral reviews
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Bank of America, CIO and ISG lines of business within Merrill Lynch, and control partners
  • Assess FLU processes and controls for compliance with laws, rules, and regulations
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries, audits, and examinations
  • Provide independent oversight of FLU/Control Function performance and third-party/vendor relationships
  • Identify and escalate issues and drive root-cause remediation
  • Manage inventories of processes, risks, controls, metrics, risk appetite, and limits
  • Develop independent risk management reporting for governance and management routines
  • Analyze and interpret laws, rules, and regulations to advise stakeholders and manage risks
  • Review and challenge process, risk, inventory, and risk-and-control self-assessment themes and trends
  • Monitor regulatory changes applicable to areas of coverage
  • Participate in governance and risk management committees and report independently to senior management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum seven years' experience in wealth management related experience, preferably private banking, broker-dealer, or asset management, or experience supporting similar FLUs from a 2nd line risk or business controls perspective
  • Working knowledge of relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including Reg 9, SEC, Reg W, and FINRA
  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable experience
  • Experience in financial services and/or a similarly regulated sector
  • Technical understanding or familiarity with Bank of America systems and platform integration
  • Ability to navigate the Bank of America organization to identify subject matter experts and governance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, directly, concisely, and simply
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet competing requirements
