About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support data and technology requests, complex reporting and analysis, and modeling to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses
  • Review and analyze portfolio, loss, and performance trends
  • Support development of databases, queries, reporting, and data production processes
  • Work with Technology to implement changes supporting ongoing data needs
  • Develop and execute reporting enabling Risk and business partners to identify and manage risk
  • Provide analytical support for product strategic initiatives across Risk functions and lines of business
  • Produce database performance reports for senior management using data mining and advanced analytical techniques
  • Respond to complex ad-hoc information requests from internal and external parties
  • Support cross-functional remediation of data quality issues
  • Monitor control outputs and investigate control-check alerts
  • Create and maintain Dealer-level credit risk performance reporting
  • Analyze vintage wedges and current performance against guardrails, accounting for business expansions or contractions
  • Conduct ad-hoc credit risk analysis related to Consumer Vehicle Lending, including key risk segments such as electric vehicles
  • Perform complex analysis of asset quality, model use risk, and emerging risks
  • Support Credit Risk points of view through analysis of loss forecasting results, model use risks, and emerging risk themes
  • Apply sophisticated analytical techniques to assess current and potential risks
  • Independently assess model use risks within the Consumer and Small Business model inventory
  • Expand AI adoption for monitoring, risk assessment, operational excellence, and documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ year degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Data Science or equivalent) or 5+ years experience in a quantitative area
  • Experience in data science, quantitative analysis, and critical thinking
  • Ability to analyze large and complex datasets, synthesize multiple analyses, and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Understanding of the modeling process, model performance measures, and model risk
  • Experience partnering, influencing, and persuading to achieve desired results
  • Excellent oral, written, influencing, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision in a complex team environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau or other business intelligence applications
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and manage conflict
  • Intermediate programming skills in Python, SAS, SQL, and R
  • Graduate degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, or equivalent certifications (desired)
  • Experience with model development, validation, or use (desired)
  • Experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI solutions to risk management processes (desired)
  • Experience with Consumer Vehicle Lending (desired)
