About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and review documentation in accordance with bank policies and procedures to facilitate closings and ensure lien perfection
  • Work on highly complex documentation
  • Support Loan Administrators with primary responsibilities
  • Assist the Market Leader in directing workflow and performing quality assurance
  • Work with vendors, legal counsel, line partners, and clients to ensure documentation accuracy
  • Execute core day-to-day operations for Community Development Banking
  • Fund and book new deals
  • Process cash receipts
  • Update financial models
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Monitor cash accounts and support reconciliations
  • Lead and direct daily team responsibilities
  • Participate in testing the CARMA accounting system
  • Review documents and loan approvals for accuracy and adherence to requirements
  • Design filing and organizational processes for financial booking and initial loan funding
  • Serve as point of contact for investment-related servicing matters on highly complex deals
  • Complete daily fundings, cash receipts, and bookings
  • Assist Equity Administrators and Asset Managers with recording activities in the system of record and general ledger
  • Monitor, research, and instruct payment processing for return of capital payments, disbursements, and fees
  • Maintain reconciliation exceptions and aging within acceptable levels
  • Respond to internal and external auditors on SOX key controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. direct Accounting experience
  • Experience with General Ledger entries
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Proficient experience with Legal Structures and Legal Forms
  • Ability to prioritize and proactively manage responsibilities
  • Effective problem solving skills and ability to perform independent research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suit
  • Comfortable interacting with Front Line Unit and Finance teams
  • Associate Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Commercial or asset based lending experience
  • eLedger
  • Prior experience with tax credit investments and/or real estate partnerships
