About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute substantive fraud compliance and operational risk practices
  • Provide independent fraud/AML risk oversight of Front Line Units or Control Functions
  • Work directly or through compliance officers to complete compliance, policy, operational/fraud risk management requirements
  • Engage with Compliance and Operational Risk officers, horizontal coverage owners, and Enterprise Areas of Coverage
  • Support development of the global coverage plan defining the scope and risk-based focus of second-line risk management activities
  • Prepare materials for regulatory exams, audits, and inquiries
  • Consult with business leaders preparing for regulatory exams, audits, and inquiries
  • Advise and direct development and maintenance of financial crimes policies and standards
  • Review Front Line Unit/Control Function policies and standards for regulatory and operational risk coverage
  • Produce or oversee independent financial crimes risk management reporting to senior leaders
  • Monitor regulatory changes and direct or challenge policy, standards, procedure, and process implementation
  • Participate in industry forums and monitor regulatory expectations, legislation, political scrutiny, litigation, and key influencers
  • Escalate financial crimes compliance and operational risks to governance routines and management/board-level committees
  • Identify, aggregate, report, escalate, inspect, and challenge remediation and thematic analysis of issues and control enhancements
  • Review and challenge operational loss events and oversee remediation plans
  • Execute independent risk monitoring, testing, targeted and periodic risk assessments, and quarterly Enterprise Fraud Risk assessment
  • Review and challenge Single Process Inventory process accuracy and completeness
  • Design, monitor, and report risk and control performance metrics and breach remediation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Fraud, AML, compliance, operational risk, and/or business control experience or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Consumer and non-Consumer lines of business
  • Strong knowledge of risk and control management frameworks
  • Ability to analyze business results to identify emerging risks
  • Flexible and solution driven perspective
  • Determination and desire to find answers to complex issues
  • Ability to lead projects and drive change with senior business and other control functions
  • Willingness to learn beyond the task or job at hand
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with senior stakeholders and external parties
  • Experience in financial services and/or a related government entity (desired)
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) (desired)
