About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform end-to-end investigations or investigation support functions involving external financial crimes activities
  • Conduct routine to complex investigations involving external-party fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing
  • Act as liaison to law enforcement as required
  • Complete investigations while meeting or exceeding closure and quality metrics
  • Complete Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) accurately and on time for regulators and/or law enforcement
  • Report investigation facts to senior stakeholders to identify operational or compliance risks
  • Partner with Global Financial Crimes Management, Front Line Units, and other stakeholders to resolve investigations
  • Perform quality control, training, communications, guidance, monitoring scenario development/enhancement input and testing, or law-enforcement liaison responsibilities
  • Manage and prioritize significant case inventory according to risk, management direction, and department SLAs
  • Research and analyze transaction information, customer data, public records, social media, and other external research sources
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and law enforcement to obtain information and documentation
  • Recommend follow-up actions and possible account closure for customers exceeding the Bank’s risk tolerance
  • Identify and escalate potential operational or compliance risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • 3 years’ experience with 1 year of relevant experience with AML, Risk, or Compliance experience and/or knowledge of financial crimes typologies
  • BSA knowledge relative to AML
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / data analytics
  • Working knowledge of the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, and the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Desired: Financial Services and/or related government entity experience
  • Desired: ACAMS certification / Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • Desired: FINRA licenses including SIE, Series 7, Series 4, or Series 24
  • Desired: Experience in law enforcement or interacting with law enforcement
  • Desired: Bilingual Spanish, Russian, Chinese/Mandarin, and/or Farsi
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (desired)
