About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute HR strategies and tactical plans for large, complex business units within Merrill Wealth Management
- Partner with senior line-of-business executives to execute HR strategies
- Support talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, regulatory compliance, performance management, employee engagement, and development
- Manage strategic Enterprise and Line of Business HR priorities and organizational effectiveness across talent acquisition, performance management, talent development and learning, succession planning, and compensation
- Apply operational excellence, organizational health, and opportunity and inclusion lenses across HR people processes
- Partner with business leaders to align programs and practices with Enterprise culture and conduct principles
- Advise leadership as a trusted HR partner
- Manage and influence workforce activities including headcount reporting and analytics, financials/expenses, promotions, opportunity and inclusion, performance, talent management, and cross-HR initiatives
- Collaborate with compensation, talent acquisition, and business partners on employee compensation and expense management
- Use HR reporting tool results to inform strategic decision-making
- Lead and participate in Line of Business HR initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of HR experience with broad experience across all areas of HR
- Experience in client management around complex strategic HR issues such as talent management, employee relations, organizational design/development, change management, and headcount
- Experience consulting with senior business leaders on HR strategy and building partnerships across Talent, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, Shared Services, Finance, and other stakeholders
- Strategic enterprise/global mindset to proactively drive change, support business results, and execute key initiatives
- Ability to influence using technical HR expertise, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, business acumen, and relationship skills
- Strong analytical capabilities, including understanding and developing problem statements and fact finding to develop data-driven solutions
- Intellectual curiosity to understand clients’ work and consider new ways to advance People priorities
- Demonstrated project management, analytical, presentation, and Microsoft Office skills, with strong attention to detail and execution
- Experience managing in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and highly complex environment
