About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide end-to-end middleware administration for critical banking platforms, including WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and WXS
  • Deliver middleware enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives
  • Ensure production stability through ongoing support
  • Patch middleware platforms with current software versions to help manage customer risk
  • Install, configure, performance-tune, and support middleware servers in production
  • Provide middleware and Java support to application and testing teams
  • Create, maintain, and support application deployment templates
  • Serve as a J2EE architect and recommend J2EE application-development best practices
  • Design middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover
  • Communicate with enterprise-level business partners
  • Consult with internal customers and external vendors throughout the SDLC
  • Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consulting across technologies
  • Help translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and deployment playbooks
  • Evaluate reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for fitness for purpose
  • Develop software solutions for manual, repeatable, or inefficient processes
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of third-party products
  • Promote an inclusive and healthy working environment and help resolve organizational blockers
  • Contribute to functional and non-functional product evaluation requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience as an Information Technology professional
  • Experience with Apache, J2EE, Java, JBoss, WebSphere Application Server, and Tomcat
  • Experience with Appian BPM products
  • Linux operating system knowledge
  • Java/container framework knowledge
  • Knowledge of Shell, Python, and Perl scripting
  • Understanding of HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, proxies, and B2B links
  • Experience with Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, and BitBucket
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is desired
  • Experience with WebSphere Extreme Scale and BPM Middleware Administration is desired
  • DevOps experience is desired
  • Experience with BMC Truesight Server Automation, Harman mDeliver, Ansible Tower, and Terraform is desired
