About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Windows DevOps team, managing FTEs and onshore/offshore contractors
- Manage day-to-day activities for Workplace Benefits and Personal Retirements Technology
- Coordinate with CIO Dev teams and delivery managers on project deliverables and provide team status
- Coordinate with Release Management on release deliverables and provide status
- Host daily morning syncs with onshore and offshore teams to review status, deliverables, issues, and priorities
- Monitor Jira requests, assign unassigned tickets, and close them after completion
- Manage deployment, middleware, and environment management for lower-level test environments
- Maintain test environments as close to production environments as possible
- Troubleshoot Windows, IIS, .NET, application integration, performance, and software issues
- Support monthly releases, Mythos patching, and EMRs after hours and on weekends
- Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and testing teams on releases, upgrades, and server upgrades
- Perform troubleshooting, analysis, research, resolution, and root cause analysis for incidents and problems
- Build subject matter expert teams to identify causes and resolutions for escalations
- Monitor environments during releases or independent changes and track production changes
- Identify improvements in environment stability and root-cause resolution speed
- Manage changes, defects, and projects across testing and production environments
- Triage defects in application testing environments
- Deploy code and retrofit production code
- Rebuild servers
- Work alongside testers and developers
- Create technical documentation
- Configure complex software delivery automation and ensure deployments meet access, ownership, and authentication standards
- Provide technical direction, modify deployment automation code, and oversee software promotion pipelines
- Mentor DevOps Engineers, decompose complex tasks, assign work, and respond to escalated issues
- Collaborate on CI/CD strategy, tool adoption, service-platform features, monitoring, alerting, forecasting, and reporting
- Address access-control and software-release-management compliance issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ year experience with Windows 2019/2022, IIS, .Net application integration in large complex environments
- Application support ensuring stability for high-volume, multi-tiered, distributed transactional applications in a production environment
- Hands-on experience with DevOps on Windows Operating Systems, System Administration and Automation
- Ability to plan, design, create programs, and document through AGILE framework and DevOps using XLR/Ansible
- Hands-on experience with Application Middleware (.Net, IIS, JRE, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting
- Environment Management skills on Windows Servers
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, or Information Technology
- Ability to troubleshoot application integration issues in Windows environment
- Basic understanding and troubleshooting experience of multi-tier applications, Networking, and SQL
- Good working knowledge of CI/CD processes, including Ansible, Jira, and XLR
- Knowledge of Windows PowerShell scripting
- Financial industry experience
- Good understanding of SDLC concepts
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects
- Willingness to work after hours and weekends to support releases, patching, and EMRs
