About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership and define engineering strategy for complex, business-critical initiatives
Ensure design and engineering approaches for complex features align with the larger portfolio solution
Define the technology tool stack and evaluate and adapt testing tools, frameworks, and practices
Enable teams and applications with CI/CD capabilities and collaborate with technical stakeholders on pipeline efficiency
Guide teams on design and high-performance coding best practices, including pairing and code reviews
Deliver complex features end-to-end, including automation, for one or multiple teams at program level
Conduct research, design prototyping, and exploration of new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
Establish high-level solution needs with stakeholders and technical requirements with architects
Drive architecture, design, and delivery of a next-generation wire payment processing platform
Provide technical direction to multiple cross-functional teams and mentor engineers
Establish engineering best practices and ensure delivery of strategic business initiatives
Partner with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineering leadership to define technology strategy and influence roadmaps
Deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years’ experience
Strong payment platform experience
Domain expertise in payment systems including Wire, ACH, and RTP
Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards
Experience ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Experience collaborating with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and develop solutions
Hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS using EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with AWS services such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
Ability to design secure and compliant cloud architectures using AWS IAM, encryption, and monitoring best practices
Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring
Recent experience with distributed data systems using Java Enterprise Edition, Oracle SQL, and Python
Experience developing scalable enterprise-grade applications, libraries, and frameworks using Java/J2EE
Experience with Spring, Spring MVC, and RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with Kafka and RabbitMQ
Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, JFrog, and Git for CI/CD
Experience with Oracle Exadata database development
Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers
Strong understanding of software development, testing, deployment, and support using agile methodologies
Expert-level proficiency in Java Enterprise Edition, Spring, Hibernate, and advanced SQL
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write specifications and design documents
