About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership and define engineering strategy for complex, business-critical initiatives
Ensure design and engineering approaches align with the larger portfolio solution
Define the technology tool stack and evaluate new testing tools, frameworks, and practices
Enable teams and applications with CI/CD capabilities and coordinate with technical stakeholders on pipeline efficiency
Guide teams on design and high-performance coding practices, including pairing and code reviews
Deliver complex features end-to-end, including automation, across one or multiple teams at program level
Conduct research, design prototyping, and exploration of tools and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
Establish high-level solution needs with stakeholders and technical requirements with architects
Drive architecture, design, and delivery of a next-generation wire payment processing platform
Provide technical direction to multiple cross-functional teams and mentor engineers
Establish engineering best practices and ensure delivery of strategic business initiatives
Partner with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineering leadership to define technology strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver scalable, resilient, high-performing solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years’ experience
Strong payment platform experience
Domain expertise in Wire, ACH, and RTP payment systems
Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards
Experience ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Experience gathering requirements and developing solutions with clients and internal teams
Hands-on AWS deployment experience with EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
Ability to design secure and compliant cloud architectures using AWS IAM, encryption, and monitoring best practices
Java Enterprise Edition, Oracle SQL, and Python experience
Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring MVC, RESTful APIs, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, JFrog, and Git
Experience with Oracle Exadata database development
Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers
Strong understanding of software development, testing, deployment, and support using agile methodologies
Expert-level proficiency in Java Enterprise Edition and related frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, and advanced SQL
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write specifications and design documents
Desired: event-driven architecture, distributed systems, financial-services compliance, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, financial products data, Agile/Scrum certification or experience, AWS certification, Lambda, EKS/ECS, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch, X-Ray, disaster recovery, and AWS data migration
