About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and lead the engineering approach for program- or portfolio-level solutions
Serve as senior technical leader for payments and external account management platforms
Define technology strategy and drive architecture decisions
Ensure platform reliability and deliver scalable, secure, high-performing payment solutions
Partner with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Business stakeholders
Modernize payment capabilities using APIs, Kafka, messaging technologies, and microservices
Establish engineering standards and mentor senior developers and engineering teams
Drive innovation across cloud-native and event-driven architectures using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, Kafka, and APIs
Drive usage of AI and related technologies with review and monitoring of AI outputs and delivery
Oversee critical releases and resolve complex technical issues
Develop technical enablers and implementation approaches with Architecture
Lead planning, definition, and design of complex features spanning multiple teams
Lead technical oversight, design reviews, code reviews, end-to-end test strategy, and cross-team integration
Define the technology tool stack and explore technologies to improve development efficiency, test/QA coverage, and release management

Requirements

What you’ll need

12+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience in enterprise payments platforms
Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Oracle, and Kafka
Strong knowledge of microservices architectures and high-volume transaction systems
Proven ability to lead large-scale modernization and transformation initiatives
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills
Experience with cloud platforms, containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices
AI Model usage and agentic framework adoption
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (desired)
