About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the first point of contact for requests and service failure incidents
- Maintain stability for a portfolio of applications
- Document or modify knowledge and perform investigations
- Identify incidents, mitigate impacts, and engage in triage
- Work with technology teams to identify and resolve issues
- Follow defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Propose changes to monitoring, alerting, and configuration to improve service levels
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain systems engineering activities supporting distributed/midrange and mainframe batch in lower-level test environments
- Monitor and support business-critical application components and infrastructure
- Respond to production incident alerts and resolve issues before customer service interruption
- Fulfill requests from users, operations, auditors, and regulators within service level agreements
- Drive operational excellence through process improvement and monitoring development
- Onboard monitoring tools and applications in systems of record
- Research potential production incidents and identify and implement automation opportunities with architects and engineers
- Communicate status updates, technical details, infrastructure/application/client impact, and component points of failure to management
- Report on environment and incident status in operational meetings
- Perform environment routing and cycling and implement splash pages
- Liaise with development teams to design and configure auto provisioning, straight thru revocation (STR), and straight thru processing (STP)
- Manage aged revocation monitoring to identify and fix defects in applications and systems of record
- Prepare technical documentation and develop troubleshooting procedures for production failure scenarios, vulnerabilities, and improvement opportunities requiring escalation

- Strong analytical, triage and issue resolution skills

- Experience/ability working in complex, highly integrated, fast-paced and high-volume environments
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly with application and technology changes
- Experience with Datastage (ETL), Pyspark, and Hadoop scripting
- Experience with JCL/PROCs
- Experience with Autosys and JIL
- Experience with CA7
- Experience with TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and SAR
- Experience with Endevor
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with Unix commands and Unix shell scripting
- RDBMS and SQL experience in Oracle, DB2, and Vertica
- Desired: Financial industry experience
- Desired: Good understanding of SDLC concepts
- Desired: Experience with automation scripts and PowerShell Script
