About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct quantitative analytics and modeling projects for specific business units or risk types
- Develop new models, analytic processes, or systems approaches
- Create technical documentation for related activities
- Work with Technology staff to design systems for running developed models
- Perform end-to-end market risk stress testing, including scenario design, implementation, results consolidation, internal and external reporting, and analysis of stress-scenario drivers
- Support planning for quantitative work priorities aligned with the bank’s overall strategy
- Identify continuous improvements through reviews of model development/validation approval decisions, technical documentation feedback, and challenges to model development/validation
- Support model development and model risk management in focus areas aligned with business requirements and enterprise risk appetite
- Provide methodological, analytical, and technical guidance to challenge and influence development/validation projects and identify potential risk
- Communicate submission and validation outcomes to model stakeholders and senior management
- Perform statistical analysis on large datasets and interpret results using qualitative and quantitative approaches
- Provide domain expertise for Strategic Risk Initiatives, Risk Management, GRA, regulators, Audit, MRM, QSG, and MRT/FO technology
- Provide requirements, system design, and adoption testing support
- Design strategic systems for Full Revaluation Risk, Reference Data, and Market Data
- Support adoption of firm-wide strategic projects across Market Risk and Counterparty Risk domains
- Maintain and update existing risk systems
- Assist with new regulatory requirements and improve processes for handoff to production teams
- Provide Market Risk model and systems support for Risk Managers, GRA, and external teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of experience in the Risk/Finance or related discipline
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics or a related quantitative field
- Proven experience in a related quantitative occupation
- Experience with Python, Excel, and SQL scripting
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of financial markets and risk management concepts
- Broad knowledge of financial markets and products
- 40 hours per week
- Must work within the United States of America shift/time framework
