About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct quantitative analytics and modeling projects for business units or risk types
  • Perform end-to-end market risk stress testing, including scenario design, implementation, results consolidation, reporting, and analysis
  • Support quantitative work prioritization aligned with the bank’s strategy
  • Review model development and validation decisions, documentation, and risks for continuous improvement
  • Support model development and model risk management
  • Provide methodological, analytical, and technical guidance to challenge and influence development and validation projects
  • Communicate submission and validation outcomes to model stakeholders and senior management
  • Perform statistical analysis on large datasets and interpret qualitative and quantitative results
  • Design, develop, and support Python-based solutions for forecasting, stress testing, and model execution
  • Build and maintain data sourcing, transformation, monitoring, reporting, and post-model workflows using Python and Excel
  • Develop scalable Python and SQL solutions to improve efficiency, controls, and operational risk
  • Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions with technology and business teams
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Support model onboarding, enhancements, GCP migrations, and production implementations across the SERA portfolio
  • Validate model inputs, outputs, and downstream reporting
  • Maintain process documentation, operational procedures, controls, and governance artifacts for regulatory and audit requirements
  • Streamline workflows and improve production stability
  • Participate in release testing, implementations, and quarterly and monthly forecast production cycles
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, or model operations
  • Advanced Python programming experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and supporting production-grade solutions
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying and validating large datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn complex business processes and understand interactions among systems, models, and data flows
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and time-sensitive deliverables
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of work products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across technology, quantitative, operational, and business teams
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience supporting regulatory forecasting, stress testing, model execution, or financial risk management processes
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, or other visualization and reporting tools is desired
  • Understanding of governance, controls, audit, and compliance requirements within financial services is desired
