About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support data and technology requests, complex reporting and analysis, and modeling to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses
- Review and analyze portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics
- Support development of databases, queries, reporting, and data production processes
- Work with Technology to implement changes supporting ongoing data needs
- Develop and execute reporting for Risk and business partners
- Provide analytical support for product strategic initiatives across Risk functions and lines of business
- Develop performance reports for senior management using data mining and advanced analytical techniques
- Respond to complex ad-hoc information requests from internal and external parties
- Support cross-functional efforts to remediate data quality issues
- Monitor control outputs and investigate control-check alerts
- Collaborate with data stewards, data users, data owners, technology teams, architects, and stakeholders on strategic data initiatives
- Gather information about business processes, data attributes, data sources, controls, and system interfaces
- Document processes, procedures, data models, data quality controls, data lineage, and data dictionaries using industry-standard methods
- Analyze information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and translate high-level and low-level information into coherent requirements
- Assess deficiencies against policies, standards, and industry best practices and recommend remediation requirements
- Drive solutions for metadata and control-environment challenges
- Review technical solution designs and recommend alternatives from a business perspective
- Communicate plans, progress, and risks to stakeholders and sponsors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, systems analysis, information systems, or related field
- 1–3+ years of experience with data sourcing, data wrangling, data engineering, or similar role
- Strong process/systems analysis, design, and documentation skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to monitor tight deadlines and adapt to unexpected requirement changes
- Strong understanding of risk management and data management principles
- Product management experience, including cross-functional delivery, product marketing, road shows/office hours, and user onboarding
- Project management experience
- Ability to create concise project plans and manage delivery
- Advanced JIRA user
- Presentation skills
- Business and data analysis skills, including BRDs/DRDs and SQL
- Technical skills such as Python are a plus
- Data quality/profiling and data lineage awareness
- Tableau experience and experience with any BI tool
- Finance/risk domain experience
- Stakeholder management and communication skills
- Familiarity with Trading, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, or Transaction Banking is desired
- Understanding or experience with SQL, C/C++, or Java is desired
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or Hadoop is desired
- Ability to research data technologies, architect data solutions, and validate designs through prototyping is desired
- 40 hours per week
- 1st shift in the United States of America
